Exciting Benefit for SIDM Members Only

We are happy to offer our new and existing members FREE ACCESS to the only influential medical journal focused on all aspects of diagnosis in medicine. Diagnosis, published by De Gruyter, is now the official peer-reviewed journal of the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine.

SIDM has made this possible because Diagnosis shares our goal of encouraging new thinking on improving this critical aspect of healthcare quality by highlighting both fundamental and applied research, improvement initiatives, opinions, and debates.

Call for Submissions

SIDM is pleased to announce a call for submissions for a special thematic issue of DIAGNOSIS on Medical Education, which will be published in early 2019.

Learn More

In just its first three years, Diagnosis has already published valuable peer-reviewed studies that are changing perceptions and practice, including the evaluation of patients with dizziness to improve the diagnosis of stroke, how our electronic medical records induce ‘siloing’ that contributes to diagnostic errors, and our growing appreciation that ‘bias’ is the default condition of the human brain.

While an annual subscription to this quarterly journal is normally $149, as a SIDM member, you have easy and free access to all of the current and archived issues. Here’s how:

  • If you are a donating member in good standing and are already logged-in, click on the Diagnosis button below. Your membership status will be validated and you will be taken to another page where you will gain easy access to De Gruyter's website.
  • If you have not logged in, you will be taken to SIDM's log-in page to do so.
  • If you are a registered non-member, you must become a member in good standing before having access.
  • If you are a member, but your membership has expired, please visit your profile page to find renewal options.

Members of the SIDM community have been involved with the journal since it was first published in 2014. SIDM founder and president Mark L. Graber, MD, FACP, also serves as its co-editor-in-chief, with Professor Mario Plebani of the University of Padua, Italy. All of the associate editors are also SIDM members: Nicolas Argy, Paul Epner, Giuseppe Lippi, Kathryn McDonald, and Hardeep Singh.
